Commissioned by: Studio Island UK / EMI Label GroupFor a job application, Studio Island asked me to design a t-shirt for one of their artists, Lola Young. Her debut album ‘This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway’ just got released, and the song that I had to design the garment for was ‘Messy’. Of course, I didn’t know it at the time, but eventually this song was about to become a worldwide hit.
The requirements for the design were that the existing visual style of the album and the music video had to be taken into account. I came up with a couple of designs and landed on these two because I liked them both equally.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t the chosen candidate for the job, but in consultation I received permission to share this project.
